week update (2nd last week)

things are coming together.

in john's class we worked on our blogs to bring us up to date and Jamie continued doing the editing, shame but if we try and help we will just hold him back so we just let him get on with what he thinks is best.

in Gavin's class we watched the documentaries and took notes for the NAB that is next week :-S

The step by step

process.

we started by researching the tower using as many resources as we could to gather information on a selected part of the tower. i collected the history on the entrance staircase.

After the research we put together our own scripts and practiced what we where going to say.

After finally getting into the tower we filmed our pieces and began to edit them to go onto a dvd for each of us. during spare time we designed the case cover and inlay for the case as well as a image to go onto the disc.

the film has to be put on a DVD so we can use it as part of a portfolio and be able to have proof of our work. The DVD will be shown on t.v and the finished project will be uploaded onto this and onto the projector

Last week in johns class we did Editing updating our blog and worked on our presentations.

on Wednesday we worked on the filmed show for Gavin.

friday we worked on a c.d. cover and i made the inlay of the disc cover

Alloa tower blog No.1

we started planning and researching the tower trip by using the internet and having a preview of the years before work on the tower to help us understand what we need to do.

the next step we took was to pick a place within the tower to present a bit of information about the area and tower.

after which we planned and wrote our scripts to help us prepare for the presentation

after a long wait in which we filled our time with work from other classes in order to catch up XD

we finally got the exciting chance to get into Alloa Tower for nothing i mean YAY!!!!! i didn't need to pay Whoop! Whoop! XDXDXD *^^* M.A.S

we filmed our pieces and we edited them so we could put it on the D.V.D after which we shall Each XD get a copy of the disc to use as proof of this year and keep a mental momentum

as the class is kinda crazy with ideas like XDXDXD

Johns Class - we were working on pro tools, getting a demonstration on what you can do on the software. Also recorder a small track and saved it.
Wednesday 3
Could not attend college as i had to attend a hospital appointment.
Friday 5
Brians class - we had a class meeting discussing various things about the magazine. I started working with scribus, done the example work then started on my article. Nearly finished it, just got a few more images to upload and edit then my two page article will be done.

after a meeting we updated our blog and seen to many different ways of doing our article.

Wednesday

today we learned about different types of news paper and we also got told about doing a radio show .

the following week we analyzed  radio and began to take notes of how to make our show line up.

finally in our group  we have discussed our plan of attack on making the show and soon will have it done.

so over the past few weeks in johns class we have been taking video's of  the college. we have done this to put together a pod-cast to show others what we thought to be important about the college courses and our own. during this class john was absent so we had Collin.

the following week we learned how to use pro tools and put together a sound track for our practice pod-cast. 

tuesday and thursday Thursday

on tuesday we had to catch up on the ict paper work printing of a folder in a folder after which we had art. in art we traced our pictures onto polly pockets and added color to a small black and white print out of our photo. we tried different colors in the picture making them more an more like andrew warhol's pop art style.

Thursday

with gavin we analyzed the different types of tabloid printing and size. we compared the difference between local and international papers and stories.

we used i web to help us create our EPK it is a simple layout software that allows you to place your own information into a skeleton set up page of a basic web page. the EPK was on a dance group that used the same colors over and over in there logo and normal design as-well as shows.

thing i did for my group animation

this part of my blog is about the things i designed and created for my animation.

flower head mascot runner- i made the flower head mascot using a wire frame and plasticine to for the shape i also used plasticine to add facial features and a red flower shaped mane.

the stadium- the stadium was made using foam board. after equally measuring the dimensions of the board and designing a stage shape i marked my points and folded the foam board into the desired shape.

mini microphones- the microphones are made using black straws and tin foil raped round the top. i also used plasticine to create small wires coming out of the microphones.

crowd- the crowed was made by everyone in the group it is simply A2 white paper and allot i mean ALLOT of painted dots with random penned in shoulders.

my report

we all take animation as just another part of life something normal and something we have all grown up with but what is the history behind the computers and the animation.

one of the first ever produced pieces of animation would have been the magic lantern.

this simple lantern would project an image on to a wall using a candle and a simple picture.

the zoetrope was first designed by a chinese man called Ting Haun. the idea of this design was to spin a cylinder with slits in it and an image printed on the inside. due to the image spinning it looks as though the image is moving.

the flip book is a simple idea using images put on top of another then played in a organized sequence to create the illusion that the images are moving.

stop motion is a commonly used form of animation. this form uses pictures placed one on top of the other then played in a simple sequence.

CGI is basically the most known and most up to date form of animation . it is images placed onto a a green background using computers also creating the 3D effect. this is done by rendering the computerized models with shade and color to make the images look as realistic as possible.
